Here are some suggestions for making the most of your new Laser Starfield Projector.
Here are photos of a variety of installations for insights and inspiration - http://lasersandlights.wordpress.com/2012/05/16/more-spectacular-examples-of-lighting-effects-using-our-blisslights-laser-starfield-projectors
The darker the better! The brilliance of the cloud field and starbeams is most powerful when there is no other competing lighting. If you are lighting tables, walkways, stages, etc.. Make sure the lighting is directional and add shading to prevent it from spreading further than needed.
Project on to White surfaces! The brighter the white to more the colors shine. Most people think you have actually painted something on the walls and ceiling to get such a brilliant effect.
Location Typically the best placement is from a corner mounting that is low enough to get at least a 30 degree angle towards the ceiling and high enough to be above participants who might shadow the effect. With this positioning the blue Cloudfield which is central will be overhead. The BlissLights projectors send green laser beams at 160 degrees in all directions from the lens up to 100 feet away with some beams traveling farther. The blue lasers are not as bright and more susceptible to being compromised by other lighting.
Adding screen surfaces and Fog Add white surfaces with fabrics, semi transparent plastics (iridescent materials), glass, mirrors and fog, smoke or haze. With fog the whole length of each beam becomes illuminated with a marvelous effect.
Landscape Lighting When illuminating trees and shrubs use weatherproof model or during warm dry weather and a low mounting location that aims at the maximum amount of leaves from the viewers angle.
Safety of Laser Beams The BlissLight laser projectors have been rigorously tested to prove that no single beam coming out of the projector could be harmful to the eyes unless the lens is viewed from a few inches away. Avoid eye contact with the laser beams at any close distances.
Mounting & Weather Protection The Bliss 15 and 50 projectors are not made to withstand moisture or any jarring movement. Either effect could damage the projector. When mounting the BlissLight bracket to a wall or any other surface, use a protective secondary security wire to prevent dropping the projector during mounting or dismantling. Waterproof outdoor versions are being developed. The use of specialized tamper proof hardware may be wise where the public may be able to reach and remove with the projector.
We are always excited to see the results of these installations and welcome you to send us photos and video clips showing the lights in action and your own creative presentations. Please share with us your results.
Thanks for your Laser Starfield Projector purchase and for spreading the BlissLights Laser Starfield experience.

Here are some suggestions for making the most of your new Landscape Laser Starfield Projector.
The darker the better! The brilliance of the laser beams is most powerful when there is no other competing lighting. The green laser beams are brighter than the red or blue laser beams. If you are lighting tables, walkways, stages, etc.. Make sure the lighting is directional and add shading to prevent it from spreading further than needed.
Project on to Lighter surfaces where possible! The lighter the surface color the more the colors shine. Most people think you have actually painted something on the surfaces to get such a brilliant effect.
Location Landscape Lighting When illuminating trees and shrubs use weatherproof model or during warm dry weather and a low mounting location that aims at the maximum amount of leaves from the viewers angle. Also consider walkways so that you avoid areas where shading will occur as people move about.
Safety of Laser Beams The BlissLights laser projectors have been rigorously tested to prove that no single beam coming out of the projector could be harmful to the eyes. Avoid eye contact with the laser beams at any closer distances than a few inches away.
Power Requirements BlissLights Landscape projectors must be powered by a transformer to 12 volt ac like most other “Malibu” type landscape lighting. These projectors draw a very small amount of electricity for the powerful beams that they emit. The LS20-G Landscape Laser draws less than 35 watts and the Spright draws less than 10 watts.
Adding screen surfaces and Fog Add white surfaces with fabrics, semi transparent plastics (iridescent materials), glass, mirrors and fog, smoke or haze. With fog the whole length of each beam becomes illuminated with a marvelous effect.
Mounting & Weather Protection The BlissLights Landscape versions are made to operate in temperatures down to -15 degrees Fahrenheit and are completely waterproof. The LS20G top hood is adjustable so make sure to slide it back enough to make sure that the beams are not obstructed from overhanging trees!
PROTECT YOUR LASERS FROM THEFT! - The Spright stake light version is particularly vulnerable to theft by anyone who walks by. If you get an 18” or longer stake, stick of rebar or iron pipe and drive it into the ground then drill a hole to attach a steel cable to it and a hole drilled in the casing of the projector, then removal would be quite difficult. Attach the cable using compressed lead cable clamps which are available from local hardware stores.
