The Regional Council of Port Douglas, Cairns, Australia has been using our BlissLights Spright Laser Starfield Projectors as a Christmas feature and for other festivals in a large outdoor park near the water’s edge in 2011. Now they are adding the LS20G-SZ moving beam Laser Starfield Projectors in preparation for the celebration of the Solar Eclipse which will be best viewed from this location. As Port Douglas is the preferred location in the world to view this Eclipse from and they are expecting up too an additional 60,000 visitors from around the world for the event Liz Collyer, the Cairn's Regional Council Manager reports "Last Christmas when the these projectors were on it was fantastic to see small children chasing the lights on the ground and stepping on them. We have extremely old fig trees in the park that we hang Christmas decorations from and the lights act as fire flies on the branches and foliage." Click here to see photos of examples of these lighting effects which are difficult to capture in photos or videos but dazzling to witness in person. Here is the report on this Eclipse on Wikipedia. "For this eclipse totality will be visible from northern Australia and the southern Pacific Ocean. The most populous city to experience totality will be Cairns, which will experience 2 minutes of totality just an hour after daybreak (6:38 am AEST, 20:38 UTC) with the sun at an altitude of just 14°" Perhaps you will be joining those going to Port Douglas to witness this eclipse when only the lasers fill the trees appearing as millions of tiny fireflies or maybe you will simply add these projectors to your own landscape for Christmas Holiday lighting displays as thousands of others are doing across the USA and around the globe.
